Sutil, di Resta and Hülkenberg for Force India

Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta will spearhead Force India’s line-up ahead of the 2011 season, sources close to GPUpdate.net have revealed prior to this afternoon’s press conference in Glasgow. Having been left out of the Williams squad, Nico Hülkenberg will switch to the Silverstone outfit as reserve driver.

Today’s media gathering comes later than expected for Force India, with winter testing beginning next week and numerous rumors having circulated the internet since the end of the 2010 season.

Although moves to the newly-branded Lotus Renault GP team had initially been anticipated for Sutil, the German remains at the team formerly known as Spyker for his fifth consecutive season. Scotsman di Resta will make his Formula 1 debut, having served as the outfit’s third driver before wrapping up the DTM crown in November.

The signing of other German Hülkenberg, GP2 Champion of 2009, leaves previous Force India racer Vitantonio Liuzzi on the sidelines and possibly out of a Formula 1 drive for the upcoming campaign.

The line-up will be officially confirmed in this afternoon’s Glasgow press conference for Whyte & Mackay, personal sponsor of di Resta, which begins at 2pm local time (GMT).
