Wilson out with broken back
UPDATE #2 his morning took an unexpected turn for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. Justin Wilson, driver of the No. 22 Roll Coater machine, was involved in a single-car incident in this morning's practice for the Honda Indy 200. Wilson was transported from Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio by ground transportation. He has an anterior compression fracture of the fifth vertebra and will be kept overnight at MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio. Wilson will be transported to Indianapolis tomorrow to meet with Dr. Terry Trammell. Dreyer & Reinbold PR
08/06/11 This rumor is upgraded to 'fact.' Justin Wilson suffered a fracture of a thoracic vertebrae. He will be kept overnight at the local (Mansfield) hospital, then transferred to Indy tomorrow for further treatment.
08/06/11 According to AR1.com sources here at the Mid-Ohio road course Dreyer & Reinbold IndyCar driver Justin Wilson sustained broken vertebrae in his accident this morning and will be out for an undetermined time. This is only a rumor right now until we hear an official announcement from IndyCar or the team. Tim Wohlford reporting
