El Tri to Headline Fiesta Friday Concert at Acura GP of Long Beach

ALEX LORA/EL TRI, celebrating 50 years at the forefront of Mexican Rock ‘n Roll, will perform at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach as headliners of the immensely popular Fiesta Friday Concert on April 12.
The Fiesta Friday Concert will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m. on the plaza in front of the Long Beach Performing Arts Center adjacent to the Long Beach Convention Center and is free to Friday race ticket holders. Space at the plaza is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Lora, the most emblematic figure in the Mexican Rock scene, has identified with several generations of fans over his career as he continues to write songs that resonate with audiences. He has produced 50 albums, live and in-studio, and shared the stage with the likes of Chuck Berry, Johnny Winter, The Ramones, The Cult, Sammy Hagar and The Rolling Stones.
With 10 certified Gold and five Platinum albums, El Tri’s hit songs have included “Las Piedras Rodantes," “Triste Cancion," “Nino Sin Amor," “Chavo de Onda" and “Que Viva El Rocanrol." In addition to Alex Lora (lead vocals), the band’s current lineup features Chela Lora (Vocals), Eduardo Chico (Guitars), Oscar Zarate (Guitars), Rafael Salgado (Harmonica), Lalo Toral (Keybords), Alejandro Ã�lvarez (Fiddle) and Felipe Chacon (Drums).
EL TRI also performed at the Grand Prix in 2009 to great acclaim. The band’s 24-city national U.S. tour, “Medio Siglo Rocanroleando" (half a century Rock ‘n Rolling), will begin in August.
“I have always been a fan of the races and for me to be invited to play at the Fiesta Friday Concert at the Grand Prix one more time is a privilege and an honor," said Lora. “God Bless the Grand Prix y que viva el rocanrol!"
Past Fiesta Friday concerts have featured other celebrated artists including Moderatto, Fobia, Belanova, Maltina Vecindad, Ozomatli and many more.
Featuring a wide variety of on- and off-track activities for the entire family, the Grand Prix weekend’s on-track action will be headlined by the NTT IndyCar Series and also include the BUBBA burger Sports Car Grand Prix, featuring the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Motegi Racing Super Drift Challenge, SPEED Energy Stadium Super Trucks, Pirelli GT4 America and the inaugural Historic IMSA GTO Challenge.
Ticket prices for Friday’s racing events and concert start at $33 for a General Admission ticket. Three-day tickets, pre-paid parking packages, handicapped seating, NTT IndyCar Series Paddock access passes, Super Photo tickets and an array of VIP Club packages are also available.
