Simona de Silvestro to KV Racing
10/26/12 Simona de Silvestro will join Tony Kanaan at KV Racing Technology for the 2013 IndyCar Series. Swiss driver de Silvestro, who has spent the past three years with the single-car HVM squad, is expected to make her debut with KV in testing at Barber on Monday.
As well as giving the 24-year-old a team-mate for the first time in her IndyCar career, the deal will also allow de Silvestro access to Chevrolet engines after having been the only driver to run the entire 2012 season with Lotus equipment. She will continue to be backed by Nuclear Clean Air Energy.
Although it was previously believed that there was potential for KV and HVM to work together in tandem, AUTOSPORT understands that there will in fact be no HVM involvement in de Silvestro's program.

10/26/12 IZOD IndyCar Series teams KV Racing Technology and HVM are considering forming an alliance next year in a deal that would bring Tony Kanaan and Simona de Silvestro together as teammates rumors Autosport and sister publication Racer.com.
If the partnership goes ahead, it would likely allow de Silvestro access to Chevrolet engines after having been the only driver to spend the entire 2012 season using Lotus units. It will also mean that she has a teammate to work with for the first time, with HVM having been a single-car team since she joined in 2010.
KV, meanwhile, ran cars for Tony Kanaan, Rubens Barrichello and EJ Viso this year, but currently only has Kanaan under contract for 2013, with Barrichello and Viso both understood to be keeping their options open.
HVM owner Keith Wiggins confirmed that discussions are underway, but cautioned that they are still in the early stages.
"It's no secret that there is some dialogue regarding collaboration, let's put it that way," he told AUTOSPORT. "There are a lot more teams working together now. It will transpire in due course."
