Pruett wins Prototype and Magnussen GT pole in LB

It’s been a month since Scott Pruett drove his Ford EcoBoost-powered Riley to Sebring’s victory lane.
That didn’t stop him from carrying momentum into Round 3 of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
Pruett placed his Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates prototype on pole for the Tequila Patron Sports Car Showcase on the famed streets of Long Beach. His lap of 1:15.325 in the No. 01 Telcel Ford EcoBoost/Riley DP bested the lap recorded by Ozz Negri Jr. (1:15.366) in the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing with Curb/Agajanian machine, securing an all Ford EcoBoost/Riley DP front row.
Jan Magnussen claimed the GT Le Mans (GTLM) pole, using his Corvette C7.R to serve notice to a class dominated by Porches during the season’s first two races. His lap of 1:17.939 was the best of the day, putting himself directly ahead of the BMW Z4 GTEs driven by Bill Auberlen (1:18.901) and Dirk Mueller (1:18.246).
Saturday’s race will be 100 minutes long, a sprint compared to the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona and Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled By Fresh From Florida.
It will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 and MRN, beginning at 6 p.m. ET.
