Is Mercedes determining who wins F1 races? (Update)
Mercedes team chairman Niki Lauda said after the Brazil race, "Very strong performance from Nico, as in Mexico. At the moment he is simply the better man. He already proved before that he is as fast as Lewis, but right now he is completely free in his head."
Free in his head, or faster because Mercedes engineers make him faster now?
Next year my team will make me World Champion! |
11/15/15 Are the results of each F1 race completely controlled by the engineers in the Mercedes backroom? Is the performance of Lewis Hamilton's car and Nico Rosberg's car determined by the commands the engineers beam to the car from the backroom?
Nico Rosberg says he has "no explanation" for his upturn in performance after claiming his second victory in a row at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Once Hamilton had the championship locked up Rosberg is enjoying a late-season surge, having secured the past five poles, and won back-to-back races in Mexico and Brazil.
"I'm pushing as hard now as I was pushing at the beginning of the season, so I don't really have an explanation for what's going on," Rosberg explained.
"I've been working hard as Lewis had the upper hand for much of the year, and it's working well. The next race is Abu Dhabi and I want to go for the win again."
Rosberg says he felt in control at Interlagos from the outset.
Hmmm….were the last to F1 World Championships handed to Lewis Hamilton by Mercedes as a reward for coming over to the team? Is next year Rosberg's turn to be World Champion? We shall find out.
